OVERVIEW BACHELOR OF HUMAN DEVELOPMENT SCIENCE WITH HONOURS Introduction The Bachelor of Human Development Science with Honours is designed based on the philosophy that human development growth and encompasses the interaction and the transaction between human and the Creator processes across the micro and macro systems. The programme tend to produce social scientist who can contribute towards the enhancement of quality of life of family, community and society as well as the quality of the environment. Programme Objectives The programme aims to produce: professionals who are competent in theoretical and practical aspects to lead the field of career related to Human Development Science. professionals who are proactive and authoritative in conducting impactful research in the area of Human Development Science towards the achievement of quality of life and quality of environment. professionals who portray innovative leadership, ethical and able to solve problems in the organization.   BACHELOR OF HUMAN DEVELOPMENT SCIENCE WITH MANAGEMENT (HONOURS) Introduction The Faculty of Human Ecology offers a Major-Minor programme, Bachelor of Human Development Science with Management (Honours) – which combines two major fields of study: Human Development as the programme Major and Management as the programme Minor. This combination allow students to acquire and integrate knowledge and skills in those two fields. Changes in the era of industrialisation and the virtual world call for an institution of higher learning that produces graduates who are knowledge workers with the relevant skills for the nation’s evolving human resource market. The Bachelor of Human Development Science with Management programme is expected to produce workers with management skills besides effective roles as individuals in the family and society and organisations. Programme Objectives The programme aims to produce: professionals who are competent in theoretical and practical aspects career related to Human Development Science with Management. professionals who are proactive and carry out impactful research in the area of Human Development Science with Management towards the achievement of quality of life and quality of environment. professionals who portray innovative, and ethical leadership and capable to manage in an organization.   BACHELOR OF HUMAN DEVELOPMENT SCIENCE WITH INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (HONOURS) Introduction The Bachelor of Human Development Science with Information Technology (Honours) is a Major-Minor programme that focuses on basic and technical skills in the fields of Human Development as the programme Major and Information Technology as the programme Minor. The programme is consistent with the national aspiration of becoming a developed nation with an emphasis on information technology. The programme aims to produce versatile, multi and inter-disciplinary graduates by preparing them with a combination of skills from applied Social Sciences (Human Development) and Technology (Information Technology). The information technology component is expected to give a competitive advantage to the programme graduates compared to Social Science graduates from other local and international universities. Programme Objectives The programme aims to produce: professionals who are competent in theoretical and practical aspects to career related to Human Development Science with Information Technology to meet the needs of industry and society. professionals who are proactive and authoritative conduct impactful research in the area of Human Development Science and Information Technology towards the achievement of quality of life and environment. professionals who portray innovative and ethical leadership and utilize information technology in an organization.   BACHELOR OF CONSUMER STUDIES WITH HONOURS Introduction The Bachelor of Consumer Studies with Honours programme is founded on the philosophy underlying the creation of a consumer society that is well-informed, responsible, ethical and proactive, for the purpose of enhancing fairness in marketing practices and supporting sustainable development for improving the quality of life. The field of Consumer Studies integrates various disciplines in pure and applied sciences such as Economics and Consumer Behaviour, Management, Marketing, Science and Technology, Socio-psychology, Communication and Law. The programme equips students with knowledge and skills in aspects of consumerism so that they can become intermediaries between producers, consumers and policy makers. Programme Objectives The aim of the programme is to produce officers who are: Competent in work related to the field of Consumer Studies. Able to solve problems in the field of Consumer Studies. Able to lead activities in an organization. BACHELOR OF MUSIC WITH HONOURS Introduction The Bachelor of Music with Honours programme encompasses various courses, with an emphasis on music aspects as performance, music technology, composition and therapy Music, aimed at producing skilled and knowledgeable music professionals. In addition, students will have the opportunity to become members of the Symphony Orchestra, the ensembles of contemporary or classical music, and choir. The programme has the potential to produce world-class musicians. Programme Objectives The programme aims to produce graduates who are: Competent as high knowledgeable musicians in the theoretical and practical aspects related to music. Able to conduct research in the area of Music. Capable to be an officer with ethical and integrity in area related to Music.
