White rice calories constitute a significant problem among modern Malaysians. It is the leading food in Asian countries such as Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, and others. However, Malaysia has the highest obesity rate in Asia.

One cup of cooked rice (186 grams) contains about 242 calories. This is even more troubling because rice is usually part of the main meal with various side dishes.

 

There are alternative ways that can be used to reduce calorie intake without reducing daily rice. Humans cannot digest rice that contains stubborn starch or resistant starch (RS) and is not absorbed quickly.

 

This starch is metabolized in the colon and helps the growth of healthy gut bacteria. The more stubborn starch in the food, the fewer calories are absorbed.

 

 

HOW TO REDUCE THE CALORIES OF WHITE RICE, SUITABLE FOR YOU WHO WANT TO DIET

 

Steps to reduce white rice calories:

1. Boil water according to the measure of rice.

2. Add a teaspoon of coconut oil.

3. Add half a cup of rice.

4. After cooking, keep the rice in the refrigerator for 12 hours.

5. Steam rice before eating.

 

Rice cooked this way contains at least ten times more stubborn starch than regular rice and has 10-15% fewer calories. With some types of rice, this method can reduce white rice calories by up to 50-60%.

 

Fat molecules from coconut oil help change the structure of the glucose in the rice, making it more digestible. Reheating the rice does not change the level of stubborn starch.
